Arch 3420 (UG3 Studio) Project 4 - BOX GARDEN

The Box Garden orients four residential tower blocks around cross-axis circulation pathways to define apartments for students who have children or families. The pathways that split the tower are multi-use; they are both egress paths in addition to the community garden and study space. The central ribbon stair reinforces movement under your own power – or, in a term, it is an irresistible stair. The stairs start on the second floor, and to reach the atrium, one must ascend through a similar, more closed, access way before releasing into the indoor environment. Finally, this is a building about climate. It has been tested and optimized to use the sun to light and heat significant portions of residential units.

Let me know if you have any projects you'd like to work on together! Not licensed yet but have worked in home remodeling and am a huge construction nerd. I would love to talk design with anyone interested in creating architecture.
